About us
Our mission
The European Repository of Cyber Incidents (EuRepoC) is an independent research consortium dedicated to better understanding the cyber threat environment in the European Union and beyond. Launched in November 2022, our key objectives are to promote data-driven discussions and policymaking within the field of cyber security and raise awareness of cyber security threats. We achieve this by providing an analytical framework for assessing and comparing the ‘life cycle’ of cyber incidents, focusing on technical, political and legal aspects. Our data and research are relevant for a wide range of stakeholders – including government officials, civil society representatives, business leaders, journalists, educators, students, and the general public.
Our activities
Building a database of cyber incidents
Our team tracks, documents, and analyses public reports of cyber incidents on a daily basis. Individual cyber incidents are coded and compiled into an interdisciplinary database that is freely accessible to the public.
Producing research and analyses
We empirically analyse trends in cyber conflicts and publish articles, scholarly papers, and daily cyber incident trackers. Our researchers also regularly participate in panels, workshops and conferences.
Creating a network
We are strengthening the European network of independent cybersecurity research organisations and researchers through specialised educational programs and scholarly round-tables.
Funding
As an independent consortium, we do not take an institutional position on policy matters. We maintain our independence through a diversity of funding sources. These include major contributions by the German Federal Foreign Office and the Danish Foreign Ministry, alongside contributions from the consortium’s member institutions. Furthermore, we actively seek project-specific grants from foundations and individuals. If you wish to support or collaborate with us, please do not hesitate to contact us at .
